This sweetie pie has won the hearts of every foster family she has ever been with. After being 2nd in line to be gassed to death in a Louisiana shelter, she and her remaining puppies were put into foster care to recuperate from being abandoned along a highway. Her foster mom reports her being literally an "angel" since she first got her despite her traumatic life. Her transport handlers told us that she was the only dog out of 25 transported allowed to sit up front with them (and that is a rarity) because of her gentle and loving nature.
Target is also a Rock N' Rescue dog, meaning she is sponsored by a celebrity - in her case the band Train because she is an angel like their song "Calling All Angels." Pat Monahan of Train has signed her collar!
Target is not a big dog, we think she is part dachshund part beagle and she has the most gorgeous face and amazing markings. Her fur is silky smooth and she is not shedding anything I can see. She is missing one of her front legs, but that does not stop her! We do not know how she lost it but it must've occurred when she was a puppy as she is probably less thank a year and a half old. She moves around great - runs and plays and snuggles (she loves to give hugs with her other arm) with joy! She is completely house trained and great on leash (and probably can be easily taught to go off leash as she doesn't leave your side).
Target likes sleeping in her big crate (we leave the door open) and on her doggie bed next to ours at night and will not get up until you are ready, even after waiting for us to shower and dress. She is extremely patient and seems to get along fine with other dogs and cats and kids. Her only "flaw" (if you can call it that) is that she takes a little time to adjust to new people and is very protective of those she sees as her friends. I have a busy household and she has adjusted fine. She does not bark much and loves to sit outside with us or on the couch! She cannot be any sweeter and is completely people oriented and loves to cuddle with someone constantly. She is very smart and probably can be taught tricks and obedience easily. She is not food obsessed nor does she chew up shoes, etc... She would be perfect for any family!
